The publication presents letters by the graduate of the St. Petersburg University, historian P. B. Shaskolsky, written in the period from 1907 to 1912 from abroad, where he was on scientific missions, preparing his master’s dissertation. The letters are addressed to Shaskolsky’s fellow student, assistant professor of the Faculty of Law P. I. Lyublinsky, and contain stories about studies in various archives and libraries in Paris, Rome, Naples, Venice and other cities of Europe, about events in his personal life (marriage and the birth of his son), as well as discussions about events in Russia and student unrest at the St. Petersburg University. The presented materials have not previously attracted attention.
